Samuel Hailu

Samuel Hailu is a professionally registered Environmentalist with over 25 years’ experience in the environmental sector covering impact assessment strategic/ policy-related projects, and due diligence.  He is the founder and managing director of TS Environment, Ethiopia. His E&S management experience has been gained on the African continent, notably in Ethiopia, Tanzania and southern Africa. His recent global experiences as environmentalist include Environmental Superintendent at Barrick Gold, and Environmental Director at MIDROC Gold.  Samuel is founder and Managing Director of TS Environment, a leading Environmental, Social, Health/Safety and sustainability consulting firm in Ethiopia. Samuel is specialized in Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Auditing and Due diligence of existing operations; Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Procedures, Reclamation and rehabilitation Program; site rehabilitation and restoration planning, Water quality, safety and Health risk assessment, community engagement and partnership. Samuel has adequate experience working with a number of techniques endorsed by international institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, United Nations, ICMM, ICMI and others. Samuel is president of Ethiopian Environmental consultants Association (under formation).
